Thank you to all of the participants, supporters, event volunteers, and sponsors for making Women Build 2016 the most successful yet. Each year, Habitat for Humanity hosts Women Build which gives local women the opportunity to build homes, communities, and hope. Each participant is asked to raise or donate a minimum of $250 to be able to build.

This year, we focused on building community through neighborhood revitalization efforts in Imperial Beach. Habitat’s Neighborhood Revitalization program provides affordable housing solutions that allow families who already own their homes to live in safety and stability. We’re not just providing a coat of paint, new landscaping, or a sturdy fence. We are providing homes where families can grow up and grow old in dignity.

The women replaced roofing and windows, painted, landscaped and repaired fences for six local families, as well as completing major renovations at the Imperial Beach Boys and Girls Club which had not been repaired since the 1960’s.

Together, we improved the living conditions for six hardworking families, and lifted up an entire neighborhood!
