Many hardworking families in San Diego County are living paycheck to paycheck in substandard or overcrowded housing. If you or someone you care about has always dreamed of becoming a homeowner but thought it was impossible, please join us for an informative virtual homeownership orientation.
We are currently building two affordable homes in Encinitas — located on Leucadia Boulevard — that will be offered for purchase by qualified buyers. The homes being offered for sale are both single family homes — one is a single story 3-bedroom, and one is a two-story 4-bedroom. Both have two baths and attached garages.
Applicants who are selected will be invited to partner with Habitat to help build and buy their own home, which will be sold to them at an affordable price not greater than 30% of the buyer’s household income.
Habitat will be hosting a virtual homeownership orientation in February where interested parties can learn about the organization, the program requirements, and how to apply. Please submit your contact information at bit.ly/buymyhabitathome to receive information about how to register for the virtual orientation, which will be provided on-demand so that it can be watched at your convenience during the allotted time frame. Orientation details will be distributed to those on the interest list in early February.
To qualify for a Habitat home, you must:
- have a demonstrated need for improved housing
- be willing to partner with Habitat to build your own home
- be able to pay an affordable mortgage
- currently reside in San Diego County
