Taste of Home 2026 Recap

San Diego Habitat for Humanity celebrated our fourth annual Taste of Home on June 7, bringing together homeowners, supporters, volunteers, and community partners for an evening celebrating the lasting impact of affordable homeownership. Guests heard inspiring stories from Habitat homeowners, received an update on the organization’s work ahead from President & CEO Kwofi Reed, and signed planter boxes that will be gifted to future Habitat homeowners.

This year’s event celebrated 13 families who achieved homeownership through San Diego Habitat, with 8 more families expected to move into their homes by the end of 2026. We are grateful to our Honorary Committee members, Justine Ulmer with Up Time On Time, First Bank, Kevin Geraghty with SDG&E, Sam Passanisi with Neal Electric, and Amenah Gulamhusein with the San Diego Foundation. With the support of our honorary committee, our beverage partners, Star Lane Vineyards, Pizza Port, Improv Cocktails, Rovino, Trattoria Don Pietro, Blooming Apron, and the Leichtag Foundation, volunteers, and guests, we are working to create more homeownership opportunities for families across San Diego County.
