About the community:
Residents of Lakeside describe it as a quaint, rural suburb community with friendly people. Located about 30 minutes from downtown, the pace of life here is a bit slower than in the big city. For people looking for a family-friendly community or a place to relax after a long workweek, Lakeside is the place. The schools are great, there are a ton of active social, sports, and service groups, and of course, there are the lakes! Lindo Lake served as the anchor to this community when it was founded in 1886, and today, the community also has access to three nearby reservoirs — San Vicente, El Capitan, and Lake Jennings. Outdoor activities and water sports are a favorite pastime here.
The community that Habitat built here is one-of-a-kind. Dubbed “Building for the Brave,” this undertaking allows us to serve those who have served — all of the homes in this community were purchased by veterans.
