Thank you to all who participated in Women Build 2021! Over 135 Women Builders from all walks of life throughout San Diego County came together to build and repair nine homes in San Diego — 6 new homes in National City, 2 new homes in Encinitas, and 1 critical home repair on the house of a veteran in National City. That’s a combined 540 hours of work and passion contributed to a future in which every person in San Diego County has a safe and affordable place to call home.

A huge thank you to corporate partners and individual donors, who raised $123,115 that will directly support Habitat’s work building and repairing the homes of our hardworking neighbors! And congratulations to our top individual fundraiser, Pat Getzel, and to our top fundraising team, MRoland Rockstars!

But that’s not all! Nearly 50 Adventure Racers made their way around San Diego County, completing challenges for the Women Build On finale activity last weekend. Teams of racers traveled from Butterfly Farms in Encinitas to Mount Soledad to the Torrey Pines Glider Port and Waterfront Park, ate raw garlic, collected trash for Cox’s Eco-Challenge, and much, much more.

Contests were held throughout the race, and we’re sending big shout-outs to Team MaultsbyTeam Balfour Beatty, and Team Holmes who were awarded for their grit, creativity, and dedication. And big congratulations to Team Glitter Girls, our 2021 Adventure Race champions!

Thank you all for making Women Build On a huge success, and we hope to see you again next year!
