MEDIA ADVISORY

Wells Fargo Continues Support to San Diego Habitat for Humanity after $105,000 Donation

Financial contribution and employee volunteers help the nonprofit’s mission of providing affordable homeownership opportunities

WHAT: On November 17, 2022, Wells Fargo employees will join San Diego Habitat to build a playhouse for local children as part of Habitat’s program that creates creative play spaces for kids of local veterans and active-duty personnel. It is a hands-on way for volunteers to give back to our communities. The build will occur at our North County ReStore location. It is a bustling hub for DIY-ers, home improvement enthusiasts, antiquers, and contractors.

At least one in five California households spend over half of their income on housing and the number of San Diego County families who are struggling to afford rent is on the rise. Partnerships like the one with Wells Fargo help provide long-term stability for families who would otherwise not be able to afford to purchase a home. The benefits of homeownership are well documented and create positive, generational transformation for families.

Funding for the new Habitat homes is part of Wells Fargo’s $7.75M donation to Habitat for Humanity International through Wells Fargo Builds program to help more families across the U.S. achieve housing stability and the $105,000 grant that was awarded to the organization earlier this year.
