San Diego Habitat for Humanity Hosts Building Industry Challenge
Building industry comes to together to raise funds for Habitat’s homebuilding mission

LOGAN HEIGHTS, CA – Fifty of San Diego’s building industry leaders will come together on Wednesday, November 6, in support of San Diego Habitat for Humanity and our mission to provide safe, healthy, affordable housing for local families.

A stable home is the foundation for the strength and independence hardworking families need to build better futures. Habitat homeowners invest 250-500 hours of “sweat equity,” working alongside our staff and volunteers to help build their own homes. When construction is complete, they make affordable mortgage payments that are recycled back into the Habitat program to build more homes for more families.

Participants will volunteer, donate funds, and bring attention to the fact that homeownership is a pathway to more stable financial futures, better education, improved health, and a more cared-for, connected community. This fun, competitive networking and fundraising event offers individuals and teams the opportunity to compete in The Sledgehammer Hold to see who is the strongest, and The Nail Driver to see who has the best aim, and the Gear Up Relay Race to see who is the swiftest. They will earn points throughout the day, and one will earn the acclaimed title of Challenge Champion!

The Building Industry Challenge is presented by City National Bank, who made a $10,000 contribution to Habitat, and is supported by Finch, Thornton & Baird; Pasco, Laret, Suiter & Associates; Lemonade; Tavern + Bowl; Bread & Salt; SB&O; and Image One Marketing Group.
