San Diego Habitat for Humanity Dedicates Four New Homes in Logan Heights
Celebrating empowerment and renewed hope for local families in need of improved housing

WHEN: Saturday, March 23rd, 2019 at 3:00pm

WHAT: San Diego Habitat for Humanity is pleased to be dedicating the first four homes of its newest affordable housing community in Logan Heights.  A total of 11 new homes are being built in partnership with local families in need of improved housing, and will be sold to them at a price they can afford.

Guests at this heartwarming event will wish the new homeowner families well and send them blessings as they embark on their new lives filled with strength, stability, and independence.

The houses were mostly built by Habitat’s army of about 7,000 annual volunteers working alongside the new homeowners, who commit to build and buy their own homes, as part of their partnership with Habitat for Humanity.  The 1,300 – 1,400 square foot homes have 3 and 4-bedrooms, 2-car garages, private yards, drought-tolerant landscaping, and energy efficient appliances and plumbing fixtures.

Habitat is honored to have the support of the City of San Diego, The San Diego Housing Commission,  BRIDGE Housing, the MAAC Project, the San Diego Unified School District Board of Education, and many generous sponsors such as the Home Depot, TD Ameritrade, Wells Fargo, Realty Income, and JP Morgan Chase, in making this community a reality.

This celebration marks the completion of the first phase, which includes four homes.  All 11 homes are expected to be complete by the end of 2019.
