WHAT: Comfort food, secret family recipes, and cherished childhood flavors can remind us of our own homes and can help us welcome others into them. To celebrate the special place cuisine has in our homes, San Diego Habitat for Humanity is hosting its inaugural “Taste of Home” fundraising event on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at 5:30pm. Attendees at this event – sponsored in part by AppFolio – will sip and savor food and drink from chefs and restaurants around the county as they share favorite dishes that remind them of home. Participants currently include:

Bagby

Holiday Wine Cellar
Huckleberry’s
The Grill at the Lakehouse Hotel and Resort

All proceeds support Habitat’s newest 10-home community on El Norte Parkway in Escondido that will be offered for purchase by qualified buyers.

Applicants who are selected will be invited to partner with Habitat to help build and buy their own home, which will be sold to them at an affordable price not greater than 30% of the buyer’s household income.

The homes being offered for sale are 1,250 square foot duplex-style homes with three bedrooms, two and a half baths, and attached garages.

WHEN: Sunday, April 16, 2023
5:30pm – 8:00pm

About San Diego Habitat for Humanity
People in our community partner with San Diego Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners build their homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With our help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.

Habitat for Humanity exists through volunteer labor and contributions of money, land and materials, including purchases and donations to the ReStore, Habitat’s discount home improvement retail center. For more information, visit www.sandiegohabitat.org or call 619-283-HOME (4663).
