You’re invited to adventure with us this October! Sharpen your problem-solving skills, lace up those running shoes, and prepare for a thrilling, all-ages scavenger hunt through Escondido on Saturday, October 21.

Not only will you embark on an unforgettable adventure, you will also be supporting the vital mission of Habitat for Humanity, dedicated to providing safe and affordable housing to those in need.

This year, our teams will race alongside our future homeowners for a chance to win a four-day staycation for up to eight people at San Diego Mission Bay Resort!

Part scavenger hunt, part double-dog-dare.

In this family-friendly event, teams of up to five work together to complete as many challenges as possible before the clock runs out. The team with the most completed challenges is crowned the winner! You will laugh, and you might do things you never anticipated, but we promise it will be memorable and jam-packed with fun!

Teams

Teams are comprised of up to five participants. Once registered, you can recruit team members up until race day.

Ages

Fun-seekers of ages and abilities are invited to join! Please note that some challenges may only be completed by an adult.

Challenges

Challenges are designed to generate unforgettable experiences and can be completed in any order.

Race day schedule:

  • 8:30am | Adventurer check-in

  • 9am | race is on!

  • 12pm| barbecue + awards

Challenge examples:

  • Research shows that consuming raw garlic can boost your immune system. Take a video of each of your team members chewing a separate raw clove of garlic for at least 10 full seconds.

  • Using a cropped image as a clue, work together to identify and locate the building pictured. Then, take a team photo with the building clearly visible in the background.

Yes! Teams are comprised of up to five participants. Once registered, you can recruit team members up until race day. If you need to change out a team member along the way, we can help.

We will meet up at 8:30am and will kick off our race with a light breakfast. We will share instructions and then teams will be sent out to adventure for 3 hours. Teams will receive the challenge list in full (there will be more challenges than you will be able to complete), and you will choose your own path to make your way to a designated lunch spot in Escondido.

Several days before the race, you will get an email with instructions to download the Bonfyre app, which is how you’ll interact with our Race HQ, report your completed progress for each challenge, chat and banter with other teams and check overall progress!

Your registration fee covers your race expenses and lunch. But, we are offering bonus points and incentives for those who opt to fundraise by sharing about the race with your friends and family. Fundraising is done through our registration page, and is simple to share via social media platforms, texts, or an email. All funds raised will directly help our new build site in Escondido located on El Norte Parkway.

Our ten single-family home community in Escondido has had significant permitting delays and tight funding deadlines. Because of this, the site is almost entirely being built using skilled labor instead of our usual volunteers. We need the help of our entire community fundraising together to make that possible. We are getting close to the finish line, but we need YOU to help us complete this project.
