Habitat for Humanity Partners with Local Home Builders
to Construct Two Homes in Five Days in El Cajon

Clark Construction and McCarthy Building Companies participate in week-long Home Builders Blitz

WHAT: From June 4 through June 8 2018, San Diego Habitat for Humanity, in partnership with Clark Construction and McCarty Building Companies, will build two homes – from the ground up – in five days in El Cajon.

The Home Builders Blitz represents a partnership between Habitat for Humanity and the building industry to build homes across the nation. Builders leverage their relationships with local subcontractors to build the homes a virtually no cost to Habitat. This is San Diego Habitat for Humanity’s eighth Home Builders Blitz; 25 homes have been built locally using the Blitz model.

The homes will be sold to people who qualify according to Habitat for Humanity’s selection criteria – a demonstrated need for improved housing, the ability to repay an affordable mortgage, and willingness to partner with Habitat by completing 250-500 sweat-equity hours before moving into the homes.

The official event kickoff is Monday, June 4th at 7am. Major construction activity to continue throughout the day/week.

Interviews and Photo Opportunities Include:
