San Diego Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Habitat was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent and affordable home to live in dignity and safety.

San Diego Habitat is the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and serves the County of San Diego. San Diego Habitat is an autonomous, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It is governed locally, raises funds locally, and builds locally. 

San Diego Habitat for Humanity has an open-door policy: All who believe that everyone needs a decent, affordable place to live are welcome to help with the work, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, political views or any of the other distinctions that too often divide people. In short, Habitat welcomes employees, volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and also serves people in need of decent housing regardless of race or religion. As a matter of policy, Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations do not proselytize. This means that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must either adhere to or convert to a particular faith, or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.


ReStore Procurement Manager

The Procurement Manager is responsible for the cultivation and long-term stewardship of product donations for sale in the ReStores. This position directly coordinates all activities related to donated and purchased product from businesses and individual donors for resale. The RPM builds and maintains relationship internally and externally, representing San Diego Habitat with vendors and beyond to ensure successful acquisition of donated product. This position is responsible for meeting donation goals, weekly solicitation quotas, and working collaboratively with the ReStores and Development Teams.

Construction Superintendent

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for all project related field supervision and provides overall onsite administrative and technical management of the construction project site. The duties of the construction supervisor include coordination of all field activities, including working with unskilled to skilled volunteers, while maintaining the project schedule and assuring quality control.

AmeriCorps Opportunities

San Diego Habitat for Humanity is proud to host AmeriCorps Members!  AmeriCorps is the national service initiative that provides community service opportunities to people of all ages and backgrounds. AmeriCorps members may do direct service, through National positions, or indirect, capacity building service, through VISTA positions. AmeriCorps is a 10-12 month volunteer service term.

Through their service, AmeriCorps members address critical needs in local communities. Habitat for Humanity works with AmeriCorps members to build homes and relationships with our families and volunteers. 

Current Openings*

*A monthly rent stipend of $400 is included in addition to the Benefits of Service outlined in each listing. These benefits are non-negotiable as they are mandated by a government grant. Additional benefits, such as cash payments or a company vehicle, are not allowed.

San Diego Habitat Ambassador Program

Volunteer Ambassadors serve as liaisons between San Diego Habitat for Humanity and the San Diego community to promote the mission of San Diego Habitat to donors, volunteers, future homeowners, and others. By hosting fundraising events, participating in community outreach, and promoting the organization via word of mouth and social media, San Diego Habitat will reach more people with its message, not only raising funds and awareness, but also providing the ability to build and repair more homes for low-income families in San Diego.
