Ed Scarpelli brings a wealth of industry knowledge and experience to the Habitat Board of Directors. He is a longtime secondary school teacher in technical education, building construction, architectural drafting, and mechanical design, and has owned custom home construction and major remodeling company, Western Mutual Development Company, since 2002.
Ed gives back to our community in many ways, as a member of the Rotary Club of Carlsbad, where he has held several leadership positions, as past chairman of the Affordable Housing Commission of the City of Carlsbad, and as past president of the North San Diego Division of the Building Industry Association. He serves as an Executive in Residence Student Mentor in the College of Business Administration at California State University, San Marcos, and was named Carlsbad Citizen of the Year in 2006.
He holds a Bachelors Degree from the State University of New York at Oswego, and a Masters Degree from Hofstra University.
