For over a year, we have been building on-site and operating our ReStores with limited staff and a small, dedicated group of volunteers. But for those of you who are itching to volunteer in person, we have some good news — beginning today, June 1, San Diego Habitat construction sites and ReStores will be open to group and individual volunteers.

We will still ask that you wear masks, practice physical distancing, and undergo a brief screening upon entry to any site.

There are volunteer opportunities on our construction sites and in our ReStores. In order to volunteer, new volunteers must attend a virtual orientation session. And anyone is welcome to attend an orientation to learn about our continuing safety protocols. You’ll also meet Habitat staff who will answer questions, learn about Habitat’s mission, current and upcoming projects, and instructions on how to sign up to volunteer. You may even meet a future Habitat homeowner!

One of our biggest ongoing needs is administrative help supporting the ReStore. There is a high volume of incoming calls from customers with questions. We’ll provide the training and information you need to answer questions or direct callers to the right resource. This work can even be done remotely on a flexible time frame. Please let us know if you are interested!
