MEDIA ADVISORY

San Diego Habitat for Humanity to Dedicate Two New Homes in El Cajon
Houses built during 5-day Home Builders Blitz create affordable homeownership opportunities for local families

WHAT: San Diego Habitat for Humanity, in partnership with Clark Construction and McCarthy Building Group, is building three homes – from the ground up – this week during its 8th Home Builders Blitz.

A closing ceremony and home dedication will take place to thank sponsors and volunteers who made this exciting event possible and to celebrate the housewarming of two families who always believed that homeownership was beyond their reach.

The homes will be sold to families who qualify according to Habitat for Humanity’s homeowner selection criteria – a demonstrated need for improved housing, the ability to repay an affordable mortgage, and willingness to partner with Habitat by completing 250-500 sweat-equity hours building the homes of their neighbors.

Clark Construction and McCarthy are builders who have leveraged their relationships with subcontractors to arrange for donated labor from hundreds of skilled workers all week. Building materials and event support donated by over 40 local and national vendors made the event possible, at virtually no cost to Habitat.
