Al and his wife, Kristin, were expecting their first child when they moved into their Habitat home couldn’t be happier to become homeowners at that very exciting time. It was something they never dreamed possible. Al served in the Marine Corps for five years as a military police officer and presidential support specialist responsible for safeguarding Marine One during Presidential Support Missions under the G.W. Bush Administration. He previously worked at Veterans Village San Diego as part of the “Courage to Call” team, did a stint at Habitat in our Neighborhood Revitalization department, and is now a transition and employment specialist in the Bob Hope Veterans Support Program at Easterseals Southern California. Kristin has worked for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and other nonprofit organizations throughout her career. She is currently working as a teacher’s assistant at the Jewish Community Center’s Niermann Preschool while she pursues her teaching degree at Miramar College. Al and Kristin are San Diego natives and high school sweethearts. Kristin’s mother, Nina, a retired businesswoman and former employee of The Anthony Robbins Co., lives with Al and Kristin, and enjoys spending time with her first grandchild.
